EZ-Stats improves DBA productivity by simplifying the copying of statistics between systems. EZ-Stats allows the user to perform realistic testing and QA of systems without the need for full copies of production databases in the test/QA environment.

With EZ-stats, DBAs can simulate a ‘live’ environment in test using a small copy of the database along with a copy of production statistics. DB2, seeing production statistics in test, generates the same access paths in the test environment that will be used in production.

EZ-Stats allows the DBA to ARCHIVE the current production DB2 statistics before making changes to production (e.g. RUNSTATS). The DBA can then use EZ-Impact Analyzer to determine the impact on existing access paths, and if the changes prove undesirable, the original statistics can be restored from the ARCHIVE.
